A Tern similar to the Dohan Dash P18 or X20 (or with a midtown mini frame) ?

Hey everyone,

I'm just getting into folders and was all set to get myself a Dohan Dash P18 and quickly discovered that they are sold out everywhere and that the only option I have in the midtown mini frame would be a Silvertip or Smooth Hound..

Does anyone know if Tern will be producing a bike similar to the P18 or X20?

.... I think the smoothhound is your only option.

Thanks Thor

Why limit yourself to 20" wheels? To get closer to full sized bike performance, you need bigger wheels like the Eclipse models running ISO 507 tires or 24". Basically, the Eclipse eclipsed the midtown models as the fold size is almost the same, plus getting the benefit of bigger wheels. My money is on the Eclipse. Alfine 11 is nice!

Hi Harorld,

Pacificcyclist makes a very good recommendation regarding 24” wheels. The 24” bikes are even stiffer than our very stiff 20” bikes.

The Dash bike are not “sold out”. for reasons that we don’t need to get into, they never made it to the US this year. They are nice bikes – we liked them a lot. But the Eclipse bikes fold smaller and fold faster – although they are heavier.

My recommendation – see if you live near a dealer and go for a test ride.
