Thanks to the Andros Stem and Atlas VLT Seatpost, both the handlebar height and saddle height can be adjusted quickly and without tools. What is Bosch eBike ABS?
Bosch Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) for e-bikes is a safety feature designed to help prevent the wheels from locking up during emergency braking or slippery conditions. By automatically regulating brake pressure, ABS reduces the risk of skidding and helps the bike maintain traction, giving riders better control and improving overall safety.

How do I update the Bosch Smart System?
You can update the Bosch Smart System through the eBike Flow app. When a new software update is available, you’ll receive a notification on your phone. You can also manually check for updates by visiting the Bosch eBike news section.
What is the range of Tern GSD with a single battery?
Depending on the model, the GSD Gen 3’s maximum range on a single battery varies between 102 and 144 km (63 - 89 mi).

Depending on the model, the GSD Gen 3’s maximum dual-battery range can reach between 207 km and 288 km (129 - 179 mi).

How can I monitor battery level and performance during a ride?
On GSD models with the Bosch eBike System 2, the battery charge is shown at the bottom of the Purion display. For GSD models with the Bosch Smart System, the battery charge is indicated on the LED Remote as well as at the top left corner of the Kiox 300 display.
How should I charge my Bosch PowerPack eBike battery?
Make sure the operating unit and battery are powered OFF before charging. Charge the battery in a dry, temperature-controlled area, either mounted on the bike or removed, and keep it away from heat, flammable materials, and out of reach of children and pets. To charge two batteries at once, keep both batteries mounted on the bike. Only use original Bosch batteries and chargers.

How long does it take to fully charge my eBike battery?
This depends on the battery’s capacity (Wh) and the type of charger used. For some indications, please visit the Bosch eBike battery page.
What happens if my eBike battery runs out during a ride?
When GSD’s battery runs out of power during the ride, the motor assist and all electronic features will stop working. The bike can still be operated as a normal bicycle through pedaling.

How safe is Tern GSD?
The GSD is one of the safest cargo eBikes you can ride. Its frame and fork are rigorously tested to ensure reliable performance up to the bike’s stated 210 kg (463 lb) weight rating as required by the German DIN 79010 cargo bike safety standard—the industry’s only dedicated safety standard for cargo bikes rated to carry more than 120 kg (265 lb). Plus, the entire e-bike system, including the motor, battery, and charger, is certified to UL 2849, the gold standard for e-bike electrical and fire safety.
How safe is the lithium-ion e-bike battery used on Tern GSD?
The GSD uses e-bike batteries made by Bosch, considered among the safest on the market thanks to sophisticated manufacturing, rigorous testing that often exceeds legal requirements, and an advanced Battery Management System (BMS). Bosch also certifies its entire eBike electrical system, including the motor, battery, and charger, to UL 2849 for the highest level of electrical and fire safety.

How often do I need to service my Tern GSD?

How many passengers can I carry on Tern GSD?
The GSD electric cargo bike can carry up to two kids (including child seats) or one adult passenger.

How much cargo can I carry on Tern GSD?
The GSD Gen 3 is rated to a maximum gross vehicle weight (MGVW) of 210 kg (463 lb), which includes the bike, rider, accessories, cargo, and any passengers. The rear rack alone can carry up to 100 kg (220 lb).

Can I carry my dog on Tern GSD?
Yes! We have two bike pet carrier options to help you bring along your furry friend:
A) The Doghouse Mini, for small to mid-sized dogs up to 13.5 kg (30 lb); or
B) The RuffHouse, for small dogs up to 7 kg (15 lb)For large dogs, we recommend attaching a pet trailer to your bike.
Is Tern GSD easy to ride with a full load or on hilly terrain?
The GSD’s Bosch Cargo Line motor gives 400% assist. This means that the motor amplifies your pedalling effort, giving you four times the power to make your rides easier, even when carrying heavy loads or climbing steep hills.

What accessories do I need to carry kids on the Tern GSD?
The GSD comes with a built-in wheel guard to protect passenger feet and legs, plus a locking double kickstand for excellent stability when parked. However, to safely carry passengers, you’ll still need proper seating, handholds, and foot support.

Where can I buy a Tern GSD?

What is Tern GSD’s intended use?
The GSD is designed for individual personal use: riding with both wheels in contact with paved roads or graded and maintained gravel roads. If you use the GSD outside its intended use (such as wheelies), this will void the warranty.
What is the Tern warranty?
Newly purchased Tern bikes, including the GSD, automatically come with a 5-year warranty for the frame, fork, and handlepost that covers defects in materials and workmanship. That warranty is doubled to 10 years if you sign up for the free Tern Care program within 30 days of purchase.
