The GSD is built around either the Bosch Smart System or Bosch eBike System 2. Having the Smart System means your GSD is a fully-networked smart e-bike with direct access to a host of IoT features and services offered by Bosch, including electronic lock for the motor, smart alarm, GPS tracking, navigation, and over-the-air updates. Like all smart tech, the Smart System aims to enhance your overall e-bike experience, and even provides a range of customization options for those looking to maximize their ride.

However, not everyone is after “the latest and greatest” digitally-connected cycling experience! For those who just want a tried-and-tested system that still lets them get the job done with finesse, the Bosch eBike System 2 checks all the right boxes with the added bonus of coming at a lower price point than the Smart System.

Available on the GSD R14 and S10, Bosch eBike ABS is a Smart System feature that prevents your wheels from locking up during emergency braking or slippery conditions. The system uses sensors on each wheel to monitor speed and detect when a wheel is about to lock up. If that happens, a control unit signals the brakes to quickly adjust the brake pressure—releasing and reapplying it in pulses so the bike brakes in mini intervals. This allows the tires to maintain traction and keeps the wheels rolling, helping you brake smoothly and stay in control during hard stops.
 

Battery capacity & compatibility

The Smart System offers higher-capacity batteries—up to 800 Wh—making it a great choice for riders who need extended range for longer commutes, touring, or carrying heavy loads.
