Onze hightech frame-scharnier is stabiel en stijf. Vakkundig gefreesd en door de vakhandel te onderhouden, om jarenlang mee te kunnen. Wrijving-arme igus® glijlagers garanderen prob-leemloos vouwen. De hevel laat zich vlak op het scharnier klappen en zorgt zo voor bescherming bij transport.

Utilizing a single hydroformed tube mated to a precision-machined steerer, the Tarsus delivers superior strength in a shape that matches the sophisticated lines of the Verge and Eclipse frames.
The process of hydroforming aligns the grain structure and strengthens the aluminum material. It also minimizes welding in the most highly stressed area of the fork.
If you decide to equip your Tarsus with a dynamo hub, it’s ready for internal cable routing, keeping the profile of your bike clean.

To eliminate flex, the Physis uses a massive joint knuckle and a post that gradually tapers from thick at the base to thin. Moreover, it has 150% more clamping height between the fork steerer and the handlepost than common designs.
The base of the Physis is machined so it functions as the upper race of the headset. This patented direct integration contributes to the incredible stiffness of the design.

The Stasis is based on Syntace’s renowned P6 design and is incredibly light, yet durably strong. It is forged from 7075 aluminum and hard-anodized for extra durability. Packed with smart engineering details that make the post easy to use and adjust.
Syntace testing is done on what they call the Red Monster and it exceeds the DIN+ standard which is typically used for freeride and downhill components. Needless to say, if it passes Syntace testing, its plenty strong enough for our bicycles.
In the 33.9 x 580 mm size, the Stasis seat post weighs only 447 grams, lighter than many carbon posts of the same size.
Syntace’s ERS technology delivers loads of fore/aft adjustment for the saddle. You can run the saddle forward for zero offset stiffness, or all the way back when you want more room to stretch in the cockpit.
Two-bolt micro adjustment allows for an infinite number of saddle angles. Obsessive attention to detail means the bolts are angled outward at 40 degrees for easy tool accessibility.
Shimano hydraulic disc brakes deliver powerful stopping power in all weather conditions with the touch of a finger.

The Joule 3 is so efficient that there’s no noticeable drag even as it’s powering your lights. Most other dynamo hubs are much less efficient; the lower the efficiency, the more drag you feel when you’re riding.

The Alfine 8 is Shimano’s masterpiece of an internal hub gear, packing 8 evenly spaced gears inside a weatherproof hub. The hub has very low rolling resistance and features silky smooth shifting so you’re ready to tackle anything on the commute.

The Gates belt drive is the ultimate commuter drive system: it’s clean, light, quiet, and requires zero maintenance.
Unlike chain drive systems, the Gates belt drive doesn’t require any grease. It’s always dry and clean—an extra bonus when you’re riding with your nice pants or squeezing onto a crowded subway.
The Gates belt, rear sprocket, and front sprocket together weigh less than just the chain it replaces.
The Gates belt runs silently—always—unlike a chain that needs regular lubrication to run quietly.
The Gates belt does not stretch (unlike a chain) and will last twice as long. It won’t rust and never needs lubrication—a big plus if you ride in wet, icy weather and roads get salted in the winter.
The Cargo Kickstand is built strong and will keep your fully loaded Tern bike upright. It uses Pletscher’s rear chainstay mount design.

We designed the Valo with Herrmans, the Finnish lighting experts who have a side business making lights for massive earth tunneling machines. No surprise then that the Valo is ready for all weather conditions: it’s made from cold-resistant ABS with built in water management channels.
The Valo puts out 41 lux of light, 4x brighter than the European requirement for bicycle lighting. That means you get a bright, wide beam of light that makes cycling at night safe and reassuring.
The Valo has a carefully shaped mirror that optimizes the beam pattern for cycling. It is wide, so you can see potential obstacles or hazards on the side of the road. It is even, without hotspots, so your night vision is not compromised. And it is clipped at the top of the beam pattern so you don’t blind oncoming cyclists or motorists.
The Valo has light channels on each side so that you are visible to cars approaching from the sides. For additional safety, the Valo has two additional LED’s on each side, which light up when you’re stopped at a traffic light.
The Valo protects your sensitive night vision with a small visor that blocks light from the Valo from reflecting back into your eyes.
LED lights need to run cool to work optimally. If they run too hot over a period of time, they gradually lose brightness. Most LED lights have a tiny button sized heat sink that is used to dissipate heat. Our patented design connects the Valo to the handlebar so the entire bar is used as a massive heat sink.
You need to be safe when you’re out on the road. That’s why we’ve designed our hard-core commuter bikes with 720° Visibility: 360° of active lighting and 360° of reflectivity.
Specially designed lights allow you to be seen from all angles when it’s dark out. Accidents often occur at 90° angles at an intersection so active side lighting is especially important.
Bright car headlights can overwhelm the active lights on a bike and this is why reflectivity is important: the brighter a car’s headlights, the brighter the reflective patches shining back at the driver. Bikes with 360° Reflectivity are visible from every angle to oncoming cars.
The Cargo Rack is designed to get stuff off your back and onto your bike so you can enjoy the ride. It is outrageously stiff and chock full of smart details that make it better than anything else we’ve used for hauling large loads. Optimized for the unique geometry of Tern bicycles.
A rack with inadequate stiffness has a very disorienting fishtail effect when carrying a heavy load. For stiffness, we use super-oversized tubular aluminum for the top deck and a DoubleTruss™ rear stay design that triangulates the rear stays.
The Cargo Rack is height adjustable so that it will fit pannier bags and baskets of all sizes. It’s designed so panniers sit a little further back on the rack, ensuring adequate heel clearance on every compatible Tern bicycle.
The Cargo Rack is compatible with all KlickFix Rackpack compatible baskets and trunk bags on the top deck.
