Similarities

Safety First

All our Bosch e-bikes meet UL 2849 safety standards. The frames and forks of our GSD, Quick Haul Long, and other cargo bikes have been tested by EFBE using stringent testing protocols to ensure they meet or exceed the German cargo bike standard DIN 79010. You can learn more about the different safety standards here.

Bosch Motor

Both the GSD and Quick Haul Long feature a robust Bosch Cargo Line motor, perfect for supporting heavy loads day in and day out, regardless of terrain.

Can carry 2 kids or 1 adult

The Quick Haul Long and GSD can easily carry two kids or an adult! The only difference would be that the rear rack of the GSD can handle 10 kg (22 lb) more than the Quick Haul Long.

Vertical Parking

The GSD and Quick Haul Long can be safely vertically parked to fit inside your home, making them ideal for most city dwellers. Both bikes park and roll vertically to fit in tight spaces (including elevators!) so you can easily bring them indoors whether at home or work. When parked upright, they take up about as much space as a potted plant.

Accessory Ecosystem

The Quick Haul Long shares a wide range of accessories with the GSD, making it easy to customize the bike for various uses.

Differences

Carrying Capacity

Both the Quick Haul Long and the GSD are capable e-cargo bikes that can carry plenty and a bit more, yet there is still a slight difference in their carrying capacity. If you want a bike that can transport your kids daily or occasionally carry a friend or partner, either option will do the job. However, if you anticipate needing extra capacity for additional cargo, the GSD is the better choice.

Bike Weight

Without batteries, the GSD has an average weight of 32 kg (71 lb), whereas the Quick Haul Long is lighter at 27 kg (60 lb). This could make the Quick Haul Long a bit easier for smaller riders to carry over a low obstacle or a few steps.

Battery

The Quick Haul Long has one battery slot, whereas the GSD is DualBattery-ready for a longer range.

Folding Handlepost

The Physis Handlepost on the GSD can be folded flat to fit into narrow spaces or your car trunk—we call this the FlatFold mode. While the Quick Haul Long's Speedlifter Stem is not foldable, it is adjustable and offers riders tall and small a comfortable fit.

Side Decks

The GSD has integrated side decks, with the Sidekick Wide Decks or Sidekick Doublewide Decks available as aftermarket accessories. On the other hand, the Quick Haul Long doesn't have integrated side decks and can be outfitted with the Stow Decks.

Pricing

The Quick Haul Long is our most budget-friendly 2-passenger e-cargo bike, while the GSD is our premium, top-tier option in the same category. For precise pricing and details, please visit your nearest Tern dealer, as prices vary by region.
