1. What is the Shortbed Tray?
The Shortbed Tray is a heavy-duty cargo carrier originally designed for the GSD. The tray is created to mount either perpendicular or parallel on the GSD and has an opening to help you access the battery. It comes with two SideStrap bungees to securely fasten your stuff.
The tray fits a 600 x 400 Eurocrate and can transport up to 35 kg (77 lb). It’s suitable for carrying your weekly shopping, sports equipment, or even a small piece of furniture.
The Shortbed Tray also mounts on other bikes, namely the HSD, Quick Haul, and Short Haul.
2. How do I install it on the GSD?
The Shortbed Tray can mount parallel or perpendicular on the GSD Gen 1 and 2. You will have enough heel clearance and can access your battery. When you install the tray perpendicularly, the opening needs to be on the non-drive side of the bike.
For more detailed information, we recommend you read the instructions in the manual.
3. How do I install it on other bikes?
The Shortbed Tray is also compatible with the HSD, Quick Haul, and Short Haul.
On these three bikes, the tray mounts perpendicular only, with the opening on the non-drive side. This position ensures you can access your battery and have enough heel clearance. For specific instructions, please refer to the manual.
4. What if I want to use panniers?
If you’d like to use the Cargo Hold 28, 37, or 52 Panniers and the Shortbed Tray together, we recommend you use the Pannier Strap Extension. This will make it easier to access the buckles, so you can quickly open and close your panniers.
