Tern Introduces First Bosch-Powered E-Bikes Into Taiwan Market
Tern award-winning folding and compact-cargo e-bikes to hit the market in May
30 April, 2024 — Urban mobility specialist Tern today launched the very first Bosch-powered e-bikes into the Taiwan market. Starting this May, the Tern Vektron and Tern Quick Haul will be available for sale at local bike shops around the island. Bosch eBike Systems has long had its Asia Pacific headquarters in Taiwan, but the worldwide leader in premium e-bike systems is just now beginning its entry into the local market.
“Taiwan is the global epicenter for quality bicycles and the country has come so far in promoting bikes for recreation and transport,” stated Josh Hon, Tern Team Captain. “With a large portion of Tern Team Members calling Taiwan home, it was easy for us to raise our hands when Bosch suggested entering the Taiwan market. Our bikes also make the most sense for dense cities like Taipei where a compact e-bike is easier to ride and store.”
Tern E-Bikes a Good Fit for Taiwan’s Dense Cities
While Taiwan excels as a global manufacturing hub for high-quality bicycles, it has also nurtured a vibrant cycling culture, buoyed by significant investments in cycling infrastructure such as bike lanes, dedicated paths, and bike-sharing services. This cultural shift has seen urbanites in Taiwan increasingly embrace cycling for commuting, running errands, and family excursions on weekends. The Tern Vektron and Quick Haul are tailor-designed to excel in these dense urban environments.
The award-winning Vektron folding e-bike stands out with its superior ride and unmatched storage convenience. It folds faster and smaller than most folding bikes in its class, yet delivers an uncompromised ride. The bike can be easily transported in cars, trains, or buses, for exploring Taiwan's scenic landscapes beyond the city. And it’s easily stashed in closets or coat rooms for storage.
The Quick Haul is a mid-tail cargo bike designed to tackle daily needs, whether that’s a school drop-off or the weekly shop. While brawny enough to safely ferry a passenger or handle 150 kg of load, the Quick Haul is still smaller than a standard city bike. The bike also boasts Tern's innovative Vertical Parking feature for simplifying storage in tight spaces—simply roll the bike into an elevator and stow it away in an apartment nook.
Adaptable to ever-changing lifestyles, both e-bikes can be tailored to fit an assortment of needs using Tern's extensive ecosystem of accessories.
