Tern Strengthens Global Team with Strategic Hires

July 29, 2025 — Urban mobility specialist Tern is pleased to announce two key additions to its global team: Maris Adamovics as Operations Director and Mark Almond, who will strengthen Tern PR and marketing efforts in the UK.

“Though the market has been a bit challenging the last few years, we’re very confident in the critical importance of urban bicycles in the future of transport,” said Josh Hon, Tern Team Captain. “And that’s why we’re continuing to invest in our team, so that we’re more agile and can respond more quickly to market changes. Maris and Mark add a lot of knowledge and passion for cycling to our team.”

Strengthening Operations

Maris joins Tern as Operations Director, initially focusing on enhancing the responsiveness and efficiency of Tern’s supply chain. With over 25 years of experience in the cycling industry, Maris brings a broad skill set in product development, sourcing, and quality management.

Before joining Tern, Maris spent four years at Specialized Bicycle Components managing the development of the Globe cargo bike series. Prior to that, he was Director of Product Development at Ritchey. These complementary roles equip him with unique insight into both the fast-moving, flexible environment of a growing company and the structured, process-driven operations of a major brand.

“Maris is perfectly positioned to accelerate Tern’s evolution towards a disciplined, scalable operation,” stated Matthew Davis, Tern COO. “He will improve how we plan, raise standards for execution, and use data  across our processes.”

Expanding UK Marketing

Tern is also excited to announce its partnership with Red Cloud Marketing, a UK-based public relations agency led by Principal Mark Almond, to boost PR and marketing efforts in the UK. Seamlessly integrated with Tern’s marketing team, Red Cloud will help expand the brand’s footprint in the rapidly growing e-bike and urban mobility market.

Mark brings over 27 years of marketing experience, including 18 years in the international bike industry. Since founding Red Cloud in 2007, he has worked with top cycling brands, startups, and event organizers. A Chartered Institute of Marketing graduate and passionate cycling advocate, Mark also has a strong background in television, radio, and live entertainment marketing.
