Tern GSD Gen 3 Atlas Lockstand Troubleshooting
As a GSD rider, you may have experienced issues with your Atlas Lockstand (also called a kickstand) not engaging properly. This often has to do with the lock latch inside the mechanism. To help you solve this problem, we’ve got you covered with the following instructions.
Part 1: Adjusting the Atlas Lockstand Lock Position
Step 1: Park the bike vertically.
Step 2: Use the 3 mm Allen wrench to remove the cover screw.

Step 3: Lift the Atlas Lockstand cover to expose the mechanism.

Step 4: Loosen the Bolt sets to free the lock following the indicated directions.

Step 5: Loosen the two set screws on the top of the kickstand. Start with the upper screw first, then the lower.

Part 2: Finding the position for the Lock
Step 1: Lift the kickstand leg to the parking position.
Step 2: Rotate the lower set screw in the tightening direction until the lock is engaged and you hear a click. If you do not hear a click, check the latch position.
Step 3: Lift the kickstand leg up and down several times.
Step 4: Rotate the upper set screw until it touches the lock body and ensure that the lock does not move. The edge of the lock and plate should be parallel.

Step 5: Tighten the bolt set to secure the lock—hold the bolt heads while fastening the nuts. Begin by tightening the inner bolt to 10 Nm, then tighten the other bolt to 10 Nm as well.

Step 6: Reinstall the Lockstand cover using a 3 mm Allen wrench, tightening it to 4 Nm. This completes the process.
