How to Secure Cables on Tern Bikes With the Combo Mount When Using a Front Rack
When installing a front rack like the Transporteur Rack or Hauler Rack on your Tern bike’s Combo Mount, you’ll want to ensure all of the bike cables are properly secured so they don’t get caught or rub against other parts during steering. If you notice a cable rubbing or getting caught on the rack, this guide will walk you through how to fix it.

Step 1: Determine if your bike comes with a cable holder
Take a look at your bike’s handlepost and see if there’s a cable holder for gathering the cables.

Step 2: Fasten the cables
All Tern front racks come with a cable strap to help you keep your bike’s cables organized. If you don’t have a cable strap, see your Tern dealer to get one. A zip tie will also work!

For bikes that have a cable holder
Gather the cables near the front rack and use the cable strap (or zip tie) to secure them to the rack’s mounting bracket.
⚠ Ensure the cable strap is secure while still allowing unrestricted steering.

For bikes without a cable holder
Gather the cables near the front rack and use the cable strap (or zip tie) to secure them to the handlepost.
⚠ Be sure to position the cable strap or zip tie so it doesn't interfere with the handlepost locking mechanism.
